The Townsville Vascular Unit is seeking junior doctors interested in undertaking a period of research within the areas of vascular biology, clinical vascular research and vascular surgery. A range of projects are currently on-going within these fields.
The research offers the opportunity to work with members of the Queensland Research Centre for Peripheral Vascular Disease and also the NHMRC funded National Centre for Research Excellence for Peripheral Artery Disease. For appropriate candidates, a research Masters or PhD could be undertaken through James Cook University.
Funding is available for a research scholarship and appropriate appointees would be encouraged to apply for longer term support from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons to complete a Masters or PhD. There are also opportunities to take part in the vascular surgery on-call roster for appropriately licensed and trained doctors.
