The Registrar or Principal House Officer - Vascular Surgery (JCU Research) role is a part-time clinical and part time university appointment as a PHO and research fellow in vascular surgery. The appointee is expected to contribute to clinical sessions (out-patients, theatre, digital subtraction angiography (DSA) and in-patient management) approximately 50% of the time and academic activities (research, teaching, audit) 50% of the time.

The Fellowship in Vascular Surgery offers incumbents the opportunity of working within a skilled team of Vascular Surgeons to develop management, leadership, teaching and clinical skills. Common procedures including lower limb revascularisation by endovascular, open and combined procedures; endovascular aneurysm repair including Branch devices, TEVAR; Carotid endarterectomy; open aortic surgery; AV fistula creation and maintenance; other vascular access procedures for oncology and renal purposes; venous surgery; and diabetic foot procedures.
